Solvo
Custom business logic automation built to replace Excel

The challenge
Solvo Global provides specialized talent to companies across North America in areas such as human resources, payroll management, and call centers. Running that model means coordinating client, employee, activity, and operations team data at the same time, with a high degree of customization for every service delivered. Before we stepped in, much of that work lived in Excel spreadsheets. Information sat scattered across files, administrative workload kept growing, and there was no unified view of the operation or of the work each team member performed. The task was not simply to swap spreadsheets for an application, but to understand how the business actually worked and translate that internal logic into a scalable system. Requirements gathering ran roughly four months given the level of detail involved, and scope kept expanding as the client discovered new possibilities within the platform.
The solution
We built a custom application that brings clients, employees, and the operations team into a single digital ecosystem, designed around Solvo's business model rather than forcing the business to adapt to generic tools. Development evolved over about a year until the platform covered a broad share of the company's operation. What began as a targeted solution became Solvo's central management tool, with client, staff, and operations processes running in one environment and room to grow alongside the business.
The result
Operational centralization: clients, employees, activities, and operations staff all managed in one digital ecosystem
What we built
- Automation of operational processes previously handled in Excel, rebuilt as structured digital workflows
- Centralized management of clients, staff, and operations personnel in a single environment
- Logging and tracking of employee assignments and workday information
- Dashboards and visualizations that make operational data easy to read and supervise
- Management of multiple links and custom reporting on interaction metrics
- Custom development around the specific needs of the business, delivered by a multidisciplinary team spanning Product Owner, Project Manager, Scrum Master, frontend and backend developers, QA, and design, with direct involvement from company leadership
Impact and results
- Operational centralization: clients, employees, activities, and operations staff all managed in one digital ecosystem
- Better structured information that previously lived in separate processes and documents
- Manual activities converted into automated digital workflows
- Stronger tracking of employees and activities from a central platform
- Less reliance on external tools as more processes moved into the system
- More efficient information flow between departments, with fewer data silos and less duplicated reporting
- A technology foundation ready to evolve with the organization's needs
